Andrea Spencer

Andrea Spencer is a glass artist currently living and working in Randalstown. She creates public art alongside small-scale mixed media sculpture and site-specific installations for private collectors, galleries and exhibition.

Andrea maintains a custom glass fabrication studio that undertakes large and small-scale commissions from concept to completion. Specialising in innovative applications of glass for the built environment, her work endeavours to broaden customary expectations of the role of glass in architecture.

"I find much of my inspiration in nature. My work for galleries and site-specific installation is concept driven, investigating natural forms that are transformed into symbolic objects through the intrinsic qualities of transparency, fragility and fluidity inherent within glass".

Andrea’s work is held in significant public and private collections as well as in galleries in the UK and the USA. Notably, her work has been exhibited at the last two British Glass Biennale exhibitions (2008, 2010). Her public art can be seen in many healthcare buildings throughout Northern Ireland.
