“I try to combine ceramic material, metal and found objects to achieve a mixed media sculptural form. The form relates directly to the structure of the environment particularly to fragmented architecture, displacement and personal space. The use of found (often domestic) objects, rich layered colour and texture, and the visible process of making, underpin the work. The possibility of firing together ceramic and non-ceramic materials is a result of two years of research relating to this technique.”
