An exhibition by the iconic US jeweller Bruce Metcalf at the National Craft Gallery in Kilkenny from 20 May - 6 July 2011.
Bruce Metcalf is an iconic US jeweller, curator and critic of contemporary craft. The exhibition is a rare opportunity to experience a solo show by this acclaimed and influential maker. In 2010 Metcalf co-authored the definitive 'Makers - A History of American Studio Craft' with Janet Koplos.

The National College of Art & Design and the Crafts Council of Ireland present Bruce Metcalf: ‘Expanding the Decorative’ a lecture exploring the relationship between decorative and conceptual, traditional and contemporary craft practice today.'

Mick Minogue will hold a series of daily workshops during his residency to explore the work of Bruce Metcalf (booking required).

National Drawing Day: Saturday May 28th, 2pm – 4pm
Create your own large-scale site-specific wall drawings in the style of Bruce Metcalf at the National Craft Gallery and a host of drawing activities for children families in celebration of National Drawing Day.
Exhibitions Tours: Tuesdays and Thursdays at 11am
Tours will run throughout the exhibition. Booking required.
