Ards Crafts Meet the Maker 2014Exhibitions
All 'Meet the Maker' events take Ards Crafts' 'Meet the Maker' programme 2014 offers you a month-by-month opportunity to meet with Ards-based makers through exhibitions, talks and demonstrations taking place throughout the year. In Oct, attend 'Free Form Knitting - creating texture and colour' with Spinner/Knitter Helen Templeton on the 25 October (10.30am to 1pm). All events take place in Ards Crafts, Newtownards.
The first exhibition of the newly formed Arts Jewellery Network (AJN) will be available to view as part of the European Heritage Open Days Programme (13 & 14 September). A travelling exhibition of conceptual work by locally based art jewellers, the exhibition can be also be seen at Culture Night Belfast and at Space CRAFT, Belfast, during October.
UFTM Creative Arts and Craft Programme 2014/2014Workshops
Kicking off with 'Craft Experience' - a craft and skills event taking place on the 6th of September (10am to 4pm), the Ulster Folk and Transport Museum bring you a packed programme of craft experiences from willow work to tiffany glass to blacksmithing and much more fom now until the end of June 2015.
Learn to Make Handstitched Leather GoodsWorkshops
The Journeyman Saddler is running a two-day course (next 16/17 August), for those who want to learn the basic techniques to produce hand-stitched leather items and have little or no previous experience. The weekend courses take place in Newry.
