Contemporary Art in Northern Ireland is an exhibition of selected works from the Arts Council’s collection and includes some of the best work created in Northern Ireland over the last decade by emerging and established artists. The exhibition takes place at Stormont from the 21 November to the 2 December.
The purpose of the Arts Council’s collection is to provide support to and recognition for our visual artists. By co-ordinating exhibitions of their recent acquisitions across Northern Ireland, the Arts Council aims to introduce the public to the highest quality contemporary art by local artists.
Makers with work in this show are Michael McCrory, Cara Murphy and Eddie Doherty – all of whom are included in Craft NI’s C3 – Collecting Contemporary Craft which aims to develop the collector’s market for craft in NI.
