A highlight of on the annual August Craft Month calendar, CRAFT FEST is a celebration of Craft, Applied Art and Design on location at the National Trust's breathtaking Castle Ward property based on the banks of Strangford Lough. Organised by the Craft and Design Collective, and now in its eleventh year, it take place from 15-17 August 2014. Visit CRAFT FEST 2014 and see exhibitions, attend workshops, meet and buy craft from NI's finest makers.

Castle Ward is a wonderful, slightly eccentric house, set in a beautiful estate on the shores of Strangford Lough in County Down. With demonstrations in the Stable Yard, workshops in the Education Rooms, incredible contemporary craft on show within the house itself, and the opportunity to meet a range of gifted Artists-in-Residence (both established and beginning their careers), CRAFT FEST offers something for everyone.

Meet, and buy work directly from, the makers at the Craft Fair.

Expect to find some of the best craft, applied art and design in the land and a most un-high street experience at CRAFT FEST's Craft Fair. With local artists, designers and makers heading to Castle Ward on the sumptuous shores of Strangford Lough it couldn't be a more idyllic setting. Expect to be sorely tempted by gorgeous jewellery, fabulous fashion and interior accessories. The only thing the exhibitors have in common is quality and individuality.

Be inspired by the exhibition

'In the House' is an exhibition of Craft, Applied Art and Design inside the House at Castle Ward as part of CRAFT FEST 2014. Selected pieces will be exhibited in the fabulous surroundings of the Entrance Hall, Dining Room, Library, Boudoir and Saloon of the stunningly unique 18th century mansion famed for its mixture of architectural styles, Classical and Gothic.

Meet the Artists-in-Residence.

The Craft & Design Collective has invited some Artist|Designer|Makers to be Artists-In-Residence at CRAFT FEST 2014.

Three recent graduates from the Belfast School of Art at the University of Ulster have also been selected to be Artists-In-Residence (Ceramics, Jewellery/Silversmithing and Textiles).The Craft & Design Collective is delighted to give these graduates an opportunity to exhibit their work at this early stage of their careers and to give visitors an opportunity to meet some of the next generation of Artist|Designer|Makers.

Get involved by attending a demonstration or booking a workshop for yourself and/or your children. The Craft & Design Collective presents a series of demonstrations in the Stableyard at Castle Ward; and a series of workshops in the Education Room at Castle Ward. Opening Hours: Fri 15 Aug, 1pm-5.30pm; Sat 16 and Sun 17 Aug, 10.30am-5.30pm. Castle Ward is open from 10am-8pm each day.
