Little Bohemian Exhibition
Through August Craft Month Benburb and the Mill are celebrating the coming together of our two artistic communities featurng works by Geralyn Mulqueen, Alison Fitzgerald, Susie Crooks, Johnny Hamill, Stephen Farnan and Darren Sutton. Throughout August there will be a series of demonstrations and workshops, from wood fired pots to bronze casting. More Information
Preview: 6-9.30pm Friday, 6 August
A launch party will take place at TANK II Gallery Benburb and The Long Gallery of The Mill. Food, drinks and entertainment will be flowing late into the night.
Part 1 - Benburb from 6pm - 8pm
Chefs Sean Farnan and Francois Champy demonstrate the art of food presentation, using work by our local craftspeople
Exhibittion by new resident painter Geralyn Mulqueen
Benburb Faces - A portrait exhibition by Photographer Sean Bardon
Art Feast - Potters Susie Crooks and Stephen Farnan along with Johnny Hamill cook up a dinner service in an hour
Weaving Demonstration - Demonstrating the making of the Potato Carrier by Alison Fitzgerald.
Part 2 - The Mill from 8pm - 9.30pm
Joint exhibition of works by local artists and crafts people in the beautiful Long Gallery Geralyn Mulqueen, Sean Bardon, Johnny Hamill, Alison Fitzgerald, Susie Crooks, Darren Sutton, Stephen Farnan
Model making demonstration by sculptor Darren Sutton
Eco Maker Johnny Hamill talks through the art of reclaiming ancient woods and turning them into contemporary furniture.
The Mill is connected to Benburb by a 15 minute walk along the Benburb Valley ECO Trail, which runs alongside the Blackwater river and Ulster Canal through Benburb Valley Park. Slow Motion Sculpture
The Mill, every Saturday in August
Maker Darren Sutton constructs a sculpture that will ‘grow’ throughout August. Over 4 weeks visitors track his progress and join in with the creation every Saturday at the Mill.
Craft Market
The Mill, Every Sunday in August
Come enjoy a laid-back Sunday afternoon in the countryside while you browse the work of local artists and the finest homegrown craft makers.
Food
2pm, Sunday 8 August
See and sample the eclectic offering of the Priory House Restaurant as chefs Sean Farnan and Francois Jampy prepare and serve locally-sourced foods from Benburb on a selection of tableware produced by local craft makers. Priory House Restaurant is renowned for its good, environmentally sound and sustainable produce including their home-grown fruits, vegetables and herbs.
