The ‘Art of Craft’ Fair 2011

The Art of Craft Fair, organised by Armagh City & District Council and The Craft & Design Collective, will take place from 27-29 May across the two sites of The Market Place Theatre and Saint Patrick’s Trian.

Armagh City & District Council, in association with The Craft & Design Collective presents ‘The Art Of Craft Fair’ taking place at the end of May in Armagh City from Friday 27 – Sunday 29 May 2011 in The Market Place Theatre & Saint Patrick’s Trian, Armagh

The Art of Craft Fair in Armagh City is the perfect place to spend your Bank Holiday Weekend where a fabulous array of chic, contemporary craft is presented alongside stimulating and creative craft workshops, demonstrations, performances.

Jewellery, textiles, glass, wood, ceramics, candlemaking, basketry and blacksmithing by some of Northern Ireland’s most original and creative designer-makers is on show in the unique and wonderful surroundings of Armagh’s Market Place Theatre & Arts Centre and Saint Patrick’s Trian Visitor Complex.    

There will also be a host of workshops in badge making, clay molding, recycling magic, bottletop creations, and bouncing creature creations, demonstrations in blacksmithing, jewellery making, candle making, basketry, wood turning, beading and much more as well as performances for children of ‘The Emperor’s New Clothes’ by Banyan Theatre Company and ‘Recycle Magic’.
 
There is also a chance to visit the Art of Craft Exhibition which runs until 29 May.

The Market Place Theatre and Saint Patrick’s Trian are two fabulous venues, each with their own unique identity and architectural style, linked by a walkway.  Both venues are in the heart of the historic city of Armagh and The Market Place Theatre has a restaurant, coffee house and bar.

How To Take Part:

The Market Place Theatre and Saint Patrick’s Trian welcomes families and people of all ages. The fair runs from 2pm-8pm, Friday and 10.30am – 5.30pm on Sat & Sun. Admission is free. Children’s workshops & performances must be booked in advance. Cost of tickets is £5.
