The thirty-second annual exhibition of the Scottish Glass Society is held at the Perth Museum and Art Gallery, until December 31. Trove celebrates glass artists at various stages of their careers.
The exhibition is entitled Trove; the theme of the exhibition is to reveal the hidden treasure of the museum’s reserve collection.
A great deal of the museum’s collection is hidden away from view, with only a small percentage of the collection on display at any given time. The aim is for artists to choose a range of items from the collection, that they can then use as a starting point and inspiration for a new piece of work.
Items from all departments of the Museum’s collection can be selected as inspiration and it is hoped to have artists select items from as many departments as possible, including, but not limited to, painting, design and applied art, photographs and letters, social history, and natural history.
In addition, an exciting series of talks and workshops have been planned to coincide with the exhibition programme.
The exhibition runs until the 31st of December 2011.
