Peter Ting trained as a designer craftsman in ceramics and glass. Peter and Caroline will each talk about their work and how it has evolved throughout their career. This will be followed by a discussion about Contemporary Souvenir, a project which they have both been working on with the University of Ulster over the past three years, developing ideas and concepts for a new breed of design-led mementoes for Northern Ireland.

Catalytic Clothing

Panel members Helen Storey, Vyvyan Howard, Phil Waywell and Trish Belford will give a brief outline of their career background and their part in the development of Catalytic Clothing. This will be followed by a discussion on the pioneering realm of art / science initiatives.

Catalytic Clothing is a radical project that brings together the worlds of fashion and chemistry with the potential to clean the air we breathe. Employing existing technology in a new way, it looks at how clothing and textiles can be used as a catalytic surface to purify air.
