For August Craft Month 2012, our theme is Made in Northern Ireland and our focus will be on makers living and working in Northern Ireland - their work, their inspiration, their stories, their craft.

Each year, August Craft Month promotes contemporary craft and the material arts in Northern Ireland and from around the UK and Ireland.

In 2012, as well as promoting exhibitions, workshops, talks / seminars, galleries, shops and craftspeople as we do every year, our particular focus will be on makers living and working in Northern Ireland – their work, their inspiration, their stories, their craft

This theme will link closely with the Titanic events taking place in 2012 which celebrate Northern Ireland’s engineering and industrial heritage.  We want to show that makers working in decorative craft professions, as well as those working in industrial crafts, together played a key role in the success of Northern Ireland’s worldwide reputation for excellence in design, manufacturing and engineering.

Programme and further details can be found at Craft NI shortly.
