Craft NI’s New Creative Programmer & Events Planning for August Craft Month 10

1st April 2010

Craft NI has appointed Orlagh Woods as the Creative Programmer for August Craft Month 2010

Craft NI has begun to plan for August Craft Month 10. ‘Slow’ is the theme for this year’s listings: the Slow Movement has spread around the world as an antidote to the fast pace of modern living that often gives too little time to things that should matter more. Craft practice is naturally attuned to the principles of ‘Slow’ and at the heart of craft are values of quality and individual artistic expression.

Craft NI has appointed Orlagh Woods as the Creative Programmer for August Craft Month 2010 to help facilitate and support the development of a programme that celebrates the artistic and creative value of contemporary craft. Orlagh may have already been in contact to discuss how your organisation can get involved. Originally from Northern Ireland, Orlagh is an experienced arts consultant who has worked with a range of arts organisations and currently acts as curator for Tamasha Developing Artists (TDA), London. Orlagh will be available throughout April and May to offer support and advice to partner venues that are interested in developing events and activities with local and international designer-makers around the theme of ‘Slow’.

If you are interested in participating in August Craft Month 2010 but have not yet finalised your event or would like to discuss event ideas please contact Orlagh Woods - ACM@craftni.org
Please forward details of finalised events to Emma Duggan emma@craftni.org
