Craft NI invites you to tell us how we’ve been doing
Craft NI is nearing the end of its current strategy, 2008-11 and is developing a new plan for the next three year period. The Board of Craft NI is consulting with key individuals, groups and organisations in Northern Ireland that have an interest in the development of the craft sector to inform its 2011-14 plan.
Since 2008 Craft NI has focussed its activities around three core objectives - advocacy and profiling of the craft sector, building partnerships and infrastructure to support the craft sector and raising quality awareness. You can read more information our core objectives on our website in ‘about’.
In 2011-14 we anticipate that Craft NI’s core purpose will not change however, the range and focus of activities may vary in response to the needs of the sector, government and funders’ priorities, funding and sponsorship opportunities and other external factors.
A key factor will be the anticipated and sizeable cut to public sector bodies which is likely to include Arts Council Northern Ireland and Invest NI. Other funding sources such as the National Lottery are also under stress due to the demands of the London Olympics; European funding in Northern Ireland is also being reduced.
While these cuts are likely to be significant, there are other potential opportunities emerging over the next period including considerable investment in tourism by the NI Assembly which will focus on the Titanic anniversary in 2012, the World Police and Fire Games 2012 and Derry-Londonderry City of Culture 2013.
With this in mind we would appreciate 15 minutes of your time to complete Craft NI's Online Evaluation Survey of our activities to date. We hope that through your responses we will increase our effectiveness over the next 3 years.
