Arts Council NI announces London 2012 Festival

London 2012 and the Arts Council of Northern Ireland have unveiled many of the London 2012 Festival events taking place in Northern Ireland between midsummer's day, 21 June 2012, and the last day of the Paralympic Games on 9 September 2012.

The programme for London 2012 Festival will deliver once-in-a-lifetime cultural experiences for audiences across Northern Ireland during the summer of 2012, from the largest ever outdoor arts event Northern Ireland has seen, Land of Giants, to bringing some of the world's leading artists into communities and iconic locations, for example, with Hans Peter Kuhn’s FLAGS, to celebrating Northern Ireland’s artistic talent from Frank McGuinness to Brian Irvine as part of NI5. Opening the UK-wide London 2012 Festival is a rock concert in Derry-Londonderry with Peace One Day.

Recently, Northern Ireland Tourist Board launched their big tourism initiative ‘ni2012: Our Time, Our Place' to help everyone to get the most out of the large-scale events happening here, next year. Those who are organising activities around the seven key tourism events next year are invited to use the ni2012 branding.
