Marion Woodburn Jewellery ÉCONOMUSÉE

Marion Woodburn's jewellery workshop in Galgorm, which has been transformed into an ÉCONOMUSÉE - a working craft studio and museum was launched by the Minister of Enterprise, Trade & Investment, Arlene Foster, earlier this week.
Marion Woodburn Jewellery provides traditional, handcrafted, high quality jewellery in unique, contemporary designs. The workshop is located in Ballymena, Northern Ireland, close to Galgorm Castle and the Antrim Coast and Glens.
Marion Woodburn is the first jeweller to feature in the ÉCONOMUSÉE Northern Europe project.
Working with the Causeway Coast and Glens Heritage Trust, her workshop – which is the heart of the ÉCONOMUSÉE – will be transformed into a living showcase of craftspeople at work. It will offer visitors a unique opportunity to discover the history and methods of jewellery-making direct from craftspeople.
The ÉCONOMUSÉE Northern Europe Project sees the combination of culture, craft and tourism as local craftspeople open their doors to visitors to watch them at work and learn about the heritage and traditions of their skills. Norway, Greenland, Iceland, The Faroe Islands, Sweden, Ireland and Northern Ireland are all partners involved in the initiative, which was developed in Quebec, Canada. The project is funded through the Northern Periphery Programme and the Northern Ireland Tourism Board.
