Craft Exhibitions Group Meeting

The next meeting of the Craft Exhibition Group will take place on 19 October 2010 at the Old Courthouse, Antrim. From her own curatorial experience guest speaker Yvonna Demczynska will discuss how both non-specialists and specialists can develop ideas, concepts and practical measures to curate craft exhibitions.

The meeting is open to individuals and organisations involved in programming, curating and setting up exhibitions.

Guest Speaker: Yvonna Demczynska, Director, Flow Gallery, London

Yvonna is an internationally recognised gallery director and has over 20 years’ experience of working in the design and contemporary craft sector. She founded Flow Gallery in Notting Hill 10 years ago with the remit of showing both British and international applied artists’ work where she curates 6 shows yearly.

From her own curatorial experience and recent involvement with the Shape of Things initiative, Yvonna will discuss how both non-specialists and specialists can develop ideas, concepts and practical measures to curate craft exhibitions.

The Craft Exhibitions Group (CEG) convenes on a 6-monthly basis and is open to any individual or organisation that is involved in programming, curating and staging exhibitions. The meetings provide a platform to provide information on international exhibition opportunities, contacts and touring programmes and to discuss upcoming craft events and activities including August Craft Month. The event provides an opportunity to network and discuss key issues relating to the sector.
