Curious about Craft – call for volunteers

Craftspace, one of the leading development agencies for Craft, is on the lookout for volunteers to support the 6-month project Curious about Craft.
Curious about Craft is s a touring exhibition/ participatory project on the theme of Craftivism, visiting all 40 wards in Birmingham between September 2010 and April 2011.
The project is based around the Mobile Arts Unit, a flexible display space on the back of a small van. Artists will lead creative workshops around the unit and in nearby venues.
‘Craftivism’ is a catch-all term for practices that use ideas around hand-making, social responsibility and environmental sustainability in fun and thought-provoking ways. This might include 'upcycling' of clothing, creating giant crochet installations, or creative mending sessions.
Volunteers will provide support for artists, engage with the public and help with setting up and taking down. Sessions last 5 hours during the daytime, taking place on weekdays and some weekends.
