Guest Speaker Angela O’Kelly at Innovation Through Design Seminar

Craft NI is inviting desiger-makers and craft businesses to attend the next seminar of the business support programme – Innovation through Design – with guest speaker, Angela O’Kelly on 23 February 2011 at the Ulster Museum.
The seminar looks at developing new products and services that can enhance a designer-maker's portfolio practice. Innovation means making practical use of ideas and in this module participants will be introduced to innovation, the design process and product management.
The seminar is led by Francis Verling with guest speaker Angela O'Kelly.
Angela O’ Kelly is a graduate of Jewellery and Silversmithing at the Edinburgh College of Art with an MA of Arts Management and Cultural Policy. Her work crosses boundaries of jewellery, sculpture and textile art. She has exhibited extensively and her work can be seen in many collections including the Crafts Council (UK); the Museum of Scotland, Edinburgh; the Museum of Art and Design, New York. O’Kelly also lectures part-time and has curated several exhibitions of contemporary craft.
The module runs from 11am – 1pm with an opportunity to hear direct from Angela about her first-hand experience of portfolio working and following the module, participants can access some 1:1 input from 1-2pm.
