Head of National Glass Centre
The National Glass Centre enjoys an international reputation for the quality of its glass and ceramics exhibitions, its impressive production facilities and its teaching of under-graduate and post-graduate programmes. The iconic glass and steel building houses galleries, artists’ studios and workshops as well as a shop and restaurant.
The Centre is part of the University of Sunderland. Recognised for its impact as a civic university, the University has an outstanding local and regional profile and extensive international reach. The University is a Centre of Excellence in glass and ceramics and is one of the few universities in the UK providing education at undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD levels.
We are looking to appoint a key role within the University to provide strategic leadership and professional management to the National Glass Centre. We want an exceptional leader who can combine a knowledge of contemporary art and creative glass with strong business acumen. Joining the management team in the Faculty of Arts, Design and Media, you will lead and manage a major national specialist centre with international reach, that is responsible for delivering an innovative and complex portfolio of programmes, services and resources. You will manage and motivate staff in pursuit of excellence, maximise commercial opportunities and deliver an ambitious business plan.
