Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust Annual Craft Scholarships

The Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust (QEST) is the charitable arm of The Royal Warrant Holders Association. QEST awards twice a year, ranging from £2000 to £15,000 and are open to everyone who wishes to improve their skills in their craft.

Candidates do not have to be connected with firms or individuals holding Royal Warrants. The Award Panel looks for well thought out projects which will contribute to the pool of talent in the UK and reflect the excellence of craftsmanship as symbolised by the Royal Warrant of Appointment.

Northern Ireland Beneficiaries of QEST scholarships include basket-maker, Bob Johnston and shoe-maker, Claire O’Flaherty.
The ideal candidate is someone who has already shown a talent for and a commitment to a craft or trade skill. (Scholarships are not given for buying equipment to establish a business or workshop or to fund general further education courses).
