ABOUT: Helen Moore

{alt}

Moore argues that ‘although art and science have clear distinct boundaries’ these are not immutable and like all boundaries, these can easily be blurred. Having come into contact with ceramics at school, Moore was captivated by ‘its malleable and expressive qualities’ and returned to it after having completed courses in Modern History and, then, Criminology at Queen’s University.

Helen Moore is an emerging designer-maker, who has recently completed her MA at the Royal College of Art, London. Some of her work is on display in the forthcoming Celebrate! exhibition at the Down Arts Centre (2-24th December).

Read more about Helen Moore’s practice in this article by Joseph McBrinn, commissioned to coincide with ‘Material Morphology’ show at the Naughton Gallery, Queen’s University, Belfast (2009).
