Jewellery Design: Stacking Rings Workshop with Diane Lyness
Spend a day of fun and make a pair of silver stacking rings under the guidance of goldsmith Diane Lyness. Each participant will be taught traditional jewellery-making techniques such as piercing, soldering, shaping, texturing and polishing to create beautiful stacking rings to take home. No previous experience is required. All you need to bring is an apron and bundles of enthusiasm!
About Diane:
Diane Lyness recently graduated from the University of Ulster obtaining a BA Hons in Fine and Applied Art, specialising in Jewellery and Silversmithing. For several years she has been apprentice Jeweller working along side Graham Harron Goldsmith, Killyleagh. She has recently been awarded the position of Artist in Residence in Down Arts Centre, Downpatrick through the ‘Making It’ scheme funded by the Arts Council NI and Craft NI and supported by Down District Council.
In June 2011 she received a bursary from Goldsmiths Hall, and in November 2011 she was asked by the BBC to make the awards for NI House of the Year 2012. She has had her work exhibited in; Space Craft Gallery Belfast, Dog House Gallery Comber, Strawberry Fields Strangford and Castleward Strangford.

Hearing-impaired infra-red system in the auditorium and induction loop at our Box Office in reception. Guide dogs, Hearing dogs and Registered Assistance Dogs are welcome to our venue, including the auditorium. Wheelchair access is available throughout the building and our auditorium for wheelchair seats/transfers. We have a low-level counter at our Box Office and Visitor Information desk. We have adapted toilets on our ground floor immediately behind our reception and also on our first floor. A lift is available from our ground floor to our first floor. Many of our doors are push button accessible.
