Textile Techniques – 4 Sessions
Over 4 sessions, learn how to create Patchwork inspired by textile techniques through the teachings of tutor Andrea Hayes. Following these classes each participant will leave with a unique piece of patchwork that has explored various artistic techniques.
During these workshops, participants will be introduced to the technique of wet feltmaking, a process of layering fine merino wools to create your own felted artwork. Afterwards detail will be added with needlefelting. The theme will be a landscape of patchwork fields, and if you have a particular view point you would like to work from please bring an image with you to the workshop.
Each individual will create an A4 size finished silk piece as well as an embroidery hoop sized piece. There will be a selection of images to trace, however participants are more than welcome to bring an A4 size image to trace/work from. An image is traced onto the silk and then gutta lines are applied and left to dry.
Classes will take place on Wednesday 3rd, 10th, 17th & 24th August.
