SUMMARY:Fiacre O'Donnell: Guided Tour of Encirc Bottle Manufacturing\, Eniskillen
DESCRIPTION:Join a guided tour of Encirc Bottle Manufacturing Facility! \n\n\n\n\n\nIn the glass industry we think of glass in 3 areas. Best for health\, taste and environment. Whilst the first 2 ‘bests’ are without contention\, glass being an inert product doesn’t release anything into the product or react to anything from the product\, thus preserving the taste of the product and the health aspect of the consumer\, the environment section is a challenge. Although 100% recyclable\, glass does have to focus on emissions from the fuels we use in furnaces\, the emissions from raw materials and the transportation challenges of moving a product heavier than all its rival packaging products. Vidrala Group are tackling these projects head on and with the recent acceptance of the SBTi 1.5o are making a public statement of intent on the environment. \nFiacre O’Donnell\,  Sustainability Director at Encirc Bottle Manufacturing\, Northern Ireland will accompany this tour providing invaluable information about the glass industry. \n

SUMMARY:Benefield Spencer Glass Holiday open studio/Christmas sale
DESCRIPTION:Benefield Spencer Glass invite you to their Holiday open studio and Christmas sale on Saturday\, December 11 at 10am. \nScott Benefield and Andrea Spencer will conduct ongoing narrated demonstrations of glassblowing on their open studio day\, allowing the public to watch this process and ask questions\, and offer a range of samples\, prototypes and studio seconds for sale at discounted prices. All ages are welcome and no prior registration is necessary.\n.\nGlassblowing is a fascinating process involving constant activity as the molten glass is shaped by tools\, gravity and centrifugal force and visitors are able to see a simple functional object made from start to finish in about 15 minutes. Glassblowing is part of the industrial heritage of Ireland that has all but disappeared\, and the demonstrations offer a way to experience this rarely-seen activity in a safe\, relaxed setting. \n  \nSocial distancing will be observed and all visitors are encouraged to wear a face covering and use the available sanitizing products.
