SUMMARY:2 Day Weaving Experience with Áine Dunne
DESCRIPTION:This 2 day experience is a great opportunity to embrace the craft of hand-weaving in a friendly\, relaxed setting. With over 30 years weaving experience on a professional level\, Áine offers a two-day experience that includes: \n· Preparation of looms\n· Design\n· Tapestry Knots and Bobbin Making\n· Tapestry Weaving and exploration of shapes\n· History of Tapestry Weaving\n· Finishing your woven tapestry \nNot to be confused with needle point tapestry\, in this workshop you will warp your loom using vertical threads and then weave across bobbins of coloured thread. It is an ancient craft documented on Egyptian pottery and elsewhere and is so therapeutic and relaxing. An extra bonus is that one can continue their weaving journey on a four-sided frame loom using an old picture frame or 4 lengths of wood. In the workshop you will weave a tapestry approximately 3” by 10” and learn how to design future tapestries incorporating your own ideas and environment. \nNo previous experience is needed. All materials are provided and lunch is included on both days. \nTicket is for 2 day weaving experience on 1st and 2nd April.

SUMMARY:Garden of stitches embroidery
DESCRIPTION:This 5 week workshop is ideal for those who would like to learn embroidery or maybe just brush up on long forgotten embroidery stitches. Embroidery has been used for hundreds of years to embellish clothing or household linens\, or to create decorative pieces: it is a way to create ‘pictures’ with a needle and thread. It is also  a great way to relax and de-stress! \nThis 5 week ‘Learn to Embroider’ course is ideal for learning 16 simple embroidery stitches. Each week you will be shown different embroidery stitches that you will use onto your two garden themed designs; these will come together at the end of the course as an embroidered garden scene which is framed in a freestanding duo frame.

SUMMARY:'Paper Magic' Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:This exhibition brings together various artists who are exploring the hidden potential of paper transformation. \n\n\n\n\n \n\n\nThrough cutting\, pulping\, folding\, oiling and collaging\, the magical properties of paper will be revealed… \nPaper is one of our oldest and most familiar materials. It has been with us from ancient times to the present\, a constant companion recording our art\, our ideas\, our transactions and\, sometimes\, quietly changing the course of history itself. We take this flat\, flimsy and ephemeral material for granted\, yet it also has the power to be transformed. \nAs the trials of the past two pandemic years continue to\, hopefully\, recede\, these artists plan to celebrate by bringing colour\, tall tales and a little enchantment. \nExhibiting Artists include: \nSue Cathcart\, Adele Pound\, Emma Whitehead\, Jayne Cherry\, Susan McKeever\, Aimee Magee and Simon Hall.
