SUMMARY:Origami Gift Box Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Join tutor Alison Pascoe in her studio to make two origami gift boxes. \nParticipants will learn an origami technique using 300gsm card to construct two boxes with lids (one approximately 11cm x 5cm\, the other 9cm x 4cm) sturdy enough to be given\, received\, and used again and again. Then\, participants will create surface pattern using a selection of coloured card and decorative paper\, along with stamping\, pens and coloured pencils. The final touches will be to create delicate ruffs and bows with simplified passementerie techniques from a selection of yarns\, paper and decorative ribbon. \nNo experience required is required and all materials are provided.

SUMMARY:Festive Botanical Printing
DESCRIPTION:In this workshop participants will explore the process of mono-printing using seasonal foliage to create a selection of hand-printed designs. Tutor Ruth Osborne will introduce the techniques of applying inks and paints to foliage to create natural linen artworks. \n\nParticipants will also learn about some of the folklore of the foliage used and its links to the celebration of the festive season. Participants will have the opportunity to create a range of pieces during the session that they can frame or turn into beautiful cards and gift tags. \n\nThis is a workshop suitable for beginners and all materials are provided. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n

SUMMARY:Knotted Ornament Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Join tutor Alison Pascoe in her workshop to create 2 festive knotted ornaments. \nParticipants will begin by learning a traditional knotting technique\, working with the aid of a tool called a grip fid. This technique does require good hand mobility. Alison will provide a selection of her own hand-spun cord alongside colourful assorted yarns and festive decorative embellishments to choose from. \nNo experience is required and all materials are provided.
