DESCRIPTION:Join Karen Hamilton for her Artist Talk on September 17 at 7:30 pm at Ards Arts Centre as she discusses her exhibition In Search of Light. \n\n\n\n\n\nKaren will share the journey of her undergraduate degree\, a personal and artistic quest to communicate light through woven textiles. She will discuss her recent collaboration with Dr Jonathan Kennedy to translate the wavelengths of the visible light spectrum as an accurate scientific representation\, and new experimental weavings capturing the fluid energy of light. \n\n\nThe Artist Talk will take place on 17 September from 7.30-8.30pm; the exhibition will be open until 19 September. Please check the Ards Arts Centre website for the opening hours.

DESCRIPTION:Craft NI is delighted to host a special webinar as part of the Contemporary British Silversmiths exhibition\, A Thirst for Silver. \nA Thirst for Silver runs at Craft NI Gallery\, Belfast from September 3 to October 31\, 2026. The exhibition showcases the work of fifty members of Contemporary British Silversmiths\, bringing together makers at every stage of their careers – from recent graduates to internationally recognised master silversmiths. It reflects the breadth\, diversity and vitality of contemporary silversmithing across the UK. \nJoin Katherine McDonald in conversation with Cara Murphy\, Richard Fox\, Rauni Higson\, Ben Ryan\, Jessica Jue and Morvarid Alavifard for an insightful discussion exploring the exhibition\, their individual practices and the vibrant world of contemporary silversmithing. \nThis is an opportunity to hear directly from leading contemporary silversmiths about their work\, inspirations and approaches to the craft.
