The Roscommon Art Centre Tapestry and Fibre Art Festival weekend will take place from Friday 29th April – Sunday 1st May.
PROGRAMME OF EVENTS
The weekend will officially begin on Thursday 28th April with the launch of “Slow time with a butterfly”, an exhibition by the members of Contemporary tapestry artists Ireland CTA in King House, Boyle, County Roscommon.
Friday April 29th:
Launch of Interconnections 4 in the Roscommon Arts Centre, an exhibition of handwoven tapestries.
Interconnections 4 is the fourth in a biennial collaboration between contemporary tapestry artists from Scotland and Ireland. This year’s exhibition will open in Roscommon Arts Centre from Friday 29th April – Saturday 14th May and will then tour to The Granary Gallery, Weston Park, Shropshire for June, July and August. 2022
The tapestries have been made over the past four years by the 8 participating professional tapestry artists;
Exhibiting Artists:
Ireland: Frances Crowe, Mary Cuthbert, Terry Dunne, Angela Forte
Scotland: Joan Baxter, John Brennan, Clare Coyle, Elizabeth Radcliffe
Saturday 30th April:
A Series of Workshops will take place –
- Weaving with Up-cycled materials
- Weaving Blue. Finishing techniques, Blocking
Sunday May 1st
The Exploring Fine Art Textiles Symposium takes place, with invited guest speakers, tour and presentation.
