Skills Intervention Programme

16 December 2020

The Department for the Economy is supporting over 3,000 free places on short courses, delivered by the local further and higher education providers. This follows 2,000 places previously announced in June.

Courses are available from entry to postgraduate levels, focussing on skills linked to priority economic sectors. Places are free to people whose employment has been ‘impacted by Covid-19’, but exact details of eligibilty have not been published. We recommend you enquire with any relevant colleges directly.

Courses include digital skills in Marketing, Accounts and Graphics packages, incuding CAD and Solidworks, as well as practical skills such as welding.

There is an overview here and further details are listed by the individual providers.
