The Great Kit Challenge
11 March 2021
Deadline: April 9, 2021
Do you have a great idea for a kit? The Great Kit Challenge is a project designed to help you pull your idea into reality. Successful applicants will go through a staged process to develop their idea and bring it to a point where they can sell and receive feedback from a buyer.
The project will culminate in an exhibition of the work at Top Floor Art Gallery in August 2021
There are two categories for applicants –
1) For individuals who wish to develop a kit for sale to the public. If you are successful in your application you can claim a small budget for materials and R&D (max. £50)
2) For makers who wish to develop a kit for a voluntary or community group. We have set aside a small number of places for those who have identified a community they think would benefit from the design of a kit and online workshop. Again successful applicants can claim a small budget for materials and R&D (max. £100)
Your kit idea can be on any theme, and in any medium but you will have to show you have thought about practical application, cost, accessibility and sustainability.
You will also need to have an Instagram or Facebook profile and be willing to receive feedback via zoom or a similar online platform.
This opportunity is currently open to applicants who live in Northern Ireland.
