Sean Hollywood Arts Centre
Sean Hollywood Arts Centre, situated on Bank Parade Newry in the heart of the City, first opened its doors to the public on 19 February 1982. It sits proudly beside the iconic Newry Town Hall. Its original title was Newry Arts Centre, but was re-named in 2003 to honor Newry man Sean Hollywood, teacher, sports coach, civil rights activist and exponent of the arts.
Spread over three floors, and accessible to all, The Centre has undergone refurbishment of its theatre and studio facilities and opens all year round. It comprises of two galleries, a 110-seat auditorium, a rehearsal room, a dance studio, a workshop for construction of set and scenery, a café, an arts studio, a dark room, two meeting rooms, exhibition space and store rooms.
It is the venue for many of the local arts groups events including Newry Musical Feis, Cloughmore Male Voice Choir, Newry Drama Festival Accolade Choir, Newpoint Players, Reynolds School of Dance, Newry Art Society, Artscare, and many more.
