The John Ruskin Prize

The John Ruskin Prize is open to entries from artists, designers and makers, amateur or professional, from anywhere in the world. The theme of this year will be Patience in Looking, Truth in Making.

 

The Prize welcomes works in all mediums including but not limited to:

  • Animation, Presented in A Film Format
  • Ceramics
  • Drawings, In All Formats
  • Collage, In All Materials Including Photography
  • Combined Work Using Both Traditional Media and Digital Elements
  • Glasswork In All Forms, Such as Stained Glass or Engraved Glass
  • Digital Artworks
  • Installation Work with Film/ Animation Elements Metalwork, Including Gold and Silversmithing and Heavy Metalwork
  • Paintings, All Kinds and In All Formats
  • Performative Work, Presented in A Film Format
  • Print, Including Etching, Printmaking and Lettering in All Mediums
  • Sculpture, Including Lettering in All Mediums
  • Photography & Photographic Elements, Including Those Manipulated or Collaged
  • Textiles And Fabric
  • Sculptural Work with Film/ Animation Elements
  • Typography And Calligraphy

 

The selection panel will shortlist up to 50 artists and select work for inclusion in an exhibition at Trinity Buoy Wharf, London, 29 January -8 February 2026.

Four winners will receive prizes totalling £9,500: a 1st Prize of £3,000, The Alan Davidson Under 26 Prize of £1,000, Ruskin Mill Trust Prize of £3,000 and the Chelsea Arts Club Award of £2,500
