The theme for the Farfield Mill Textile Competition 2025/6 is “Metamorphosis” which signifies a remarkable transformation in form or structure.

Take inspiration from various forms of change, including the physical transformation of living beings, personal life changes, significant ecological shifts over millennia, or the renewed purpose found in the restoration of an old mill.

2026 marks the 25th anniversary of Farfield Mill’s restoration and its emergence as a vibrant cultural venue. All textile art techniques are accepted but the final piece must consist of at least 75% textiles.

• Application to enter the competition will open Monday 1 September and close Wednesday 7 January.
• Submission fee £15 per entry.
