Reviving Gothic: contemporary artists at Tyntesfield

The National Trust are looking for up to 10 artists to contribute an artwork to a group exhibition at Tyntesfield, a Victorian Gothic Revival house. The working title of the
exhibition is ‘Reviving Gothic: contemporary artists at Tyntesfield’ .
The exhibition will revive, reinterpret and explore the full gothic spectrum. From its medieval beginnings, romantic renewal, 19th century revival and modern re -invention, gothic has long offered people a way to express who they are, and to navigate the ideas, emotions and challenges of their time.
Artists are invited to submit proposals for artworks under two funding categories :
- £3,000 to £5,000 : approx. 3 commissions availablE
- £0 to £3,000: approx. 6 commissions available
The selected works will be installed at Tyntesfield in the Drawing Room . The exhibition will launch on 2 May 2026 and be on display for visitors to enjoy until 31 July 2026.
