Arcade Public Art Commission

2 November 2023

Deadline: November 15, 2023

A business cluster from within the Cathedral Quarter has been successful in obtaining funding from Belfast City Council to commission a new piece of public art on Donegall Street.

The Cathedral Quarter in Belfast is a vibrant and culturally rich neighbourhood, boasting a unique blend of history and contemporary urban life. The Arcade Façade on Donegall Street, a historical and architectural gem, has been a central feature of this area for decades.

This public art ‘Images of the Arcade’ commission aims to breathe new life into this iconic façade while paying homage to its history, enhancing the neighbourhood’s visual appeal, and contributing to the ongoing revitalisation of the area.

Eligibility: This public art commission is open to established and emerging artists, sculptors, and designers. Collaborative proposals are encouraged, and local artists are especially encouraged to apply.

For further information, the brief, budget and submission details, see here.

All proposals must be submitted by 5pm, 15th November 2023.
