Gel Plate Printing & Collage Workshop
About the event
Join artist Ruth Osborne for this in person workshop held on board HMS Caroline. In this workshop, participants will take inspiration from the shapes, forms and patterns on board HMS Caroline to create a series of layered prints using a Gel Plate. These will be collaged to create original artworks inspired by the unique environment of HMS Caroline. The workshop will involve stencil making, printmaking and collage while working with a range of papers and fabrics.
Based in County Down by the shores of Strangford Lough, Ruth Osborne creates mixed-media original works on Irish Linen. These include original works of art, art prints, cards and homeware that inspire a connection with nature, landscape and heritage.
This workshop is suitable for adults and is free of charge, but must be booked in advance by emailing learning.caroline@nmrn.org.uk.

Accessibility:
HMS Caroline is a restored First World War ship that has been converted into a museum and visitor attraction. Due to the historic nature of the vessel, there are some accessibility considerations to be aware of when planning your visit. The ship is accessed via a ramp from the dockside. As the vessel is afloat, the gradient of the ramp changes due to the tidal nature of Belfast Lough; the ramp can be particularly steep at high tide.
