Liza’s Studio Exhibition
About the event
‘Annals’ is an open Studio Exhibition of figurative bronze, paper-pulp sculptures and other 3D and 2D paper works by maker Elizabeth Jorn.
The nature and shores of Strangford Lough are a daily reminder of transience and transformation. Elizabeth’s work responds to the world around and investigates the ephemeral and interconnected states of humanity’s emotional and inner lives.
Enjoying the physicality of building forms, her work is often cast in bronze or formed from materials, found easily at home and in the neighbouring countryside of Strangford. Newspapers, cardboard, seaweed and glue became the medium to create vessels and containers that like her bronze works tell narratives and have an immediate tactility.
