Call for Expressions of Interest: Linen Biennale Northern Ireland 2025

27 June 2024

Deadline: August 30, 2024

Linen Biennale Northern Ireland is seeking expressions of interest for participation in Linen Biennale Northern Ireland 2025. We invite venues, artists, designers, makers, and curators from Northern Ireland and beyond to submit ideas for consideration.

Theme: The theme for the Linen Biennale Northern Ireland 2025 is “Regroup & React”. After two successful festivals focused on heritage, the 2025 Biennale intends to have an increased focus on the contemporary. LB are interested in anything linen especially if relating to the intersection of past and future, craft and technology, sustainability and creativity.

Speculative Call for Participation: At this stage, the Linen Biennale Northern Ireland 2025 is in a speculative phase, and are gathering expressions of interest. While there is no finalised program yet, LB are eager to hear your innovative ideas and potential contributions. Your input will help make a strong case for securing funding and other partnerships both locally and internationally.

LB are keen to hear from:
– Individual artists, designers, curators and makers
– Collaborative groups and collectives
– Heritage and cultural institutions
– Educational institutions with relevant programs

Submission Guidelines: Interested parties are invited to submit an Expression of Interest that includes the following:

Overview Proposal: A description of the proposed project or collaboration. Please include your concept, its relevance to the Linen Biennale’s themes, ambitions and the intended format (e.g. exhibition, installation, performance, workshop). Where relevant, include links to previous work, research or programmes to illustrate your idea. Max 300 words.

Requirements: A list of technical and material requirements, including space, equipment, and any other specific needs. If you are a venue please let the team know what spaces you potentially have available.
