Call Out: Mother Earth Exhibition

A call out has been released for ceramicists to submit work to an upcoming exhibition responding to the theme ‘Mother Earth’, see below for brief:

Mother Earth – An exhibition about the earth, made from earth.

A celebration of ceramics in all forms from a selection of ceramic makers from the North and South.

A visual delight in ceramics highlighting issues around climate change, earth problems, earths beauty, spirituality, and motherhood. An enchanting thought provoking and contrasting exhibition full of a variety of skills yet all made from clay. From the sculptural to the functional and the folly. Clay in its finest form!

For part of the exhibition there will be a wall of plates displayed together as an installation piece, which makers are also invited to respond to. 

Important information:

  • There will be two awards granted:
    x1 award for the best plate
    x1 award for the best high end ceramic art piece in exhibition 
  • The pieces would need to be at the Strule Arts Centre, in Omagh for the 31st July.

Dates:

The official opening and awards will take place on Friday the 11th August 7pm.

There will also be a gallery tour with the option for artists to talk about their work on Saturday 12th August 12pm.

The exhibition will run from Thursday 3rd August until Saturday 2nd September 2023 and will be part of this year’s August Craft Month.
