CONNECTIONS – Outdoor Public Exhibition

Creatives are invited to submit works for an open-air public exhibition along the Lagan Towpath this July/August.

The theme is CONNECTIONS (e.g. to Place/ Nature/ Community/ Friends/ Family/ City/ Home etc).

Artists are invited to respond to the theme in unique and thoughtful ways. All mediums are welcomed, as long as it can be installed outside for a minimum of three weeks and does not negatively impact the natural environment. Artists are urged to visit the site and interact with the specific area – Lagan Towpath from Belfast Boat Club to Brown Bridge (including Lagan Meadows and Moreland Meadows). Location subject to approval.

Lagan Connections are particularly interested in ideas for artworks which may blend and grow with the environment, encouraging public exploration and interaction with the space. Supported by the Belfast City Council Creative Bursary 2023 as a recipient’s project, the exhibition aims to promote participation, engagement, and sustainability. This will be an open collaborative process with artists to present a cohesive public sculpture display which expresses the cultural identity of the area and community.
