Goldsmiths’ Centre: Shine

The Goldsmiths’ Centre invites emerging UK-based designer makers in jewellery and silversmithing to take part in its 3-month, free training programme, Shine 2024. Up to fifteen participants will learn from industry experts how to confidently present, sell and showcase their new jewellery or silversmithing collections.
Participants, who must be in their first five years of business, will receive invaluable guidance alongside their peers through a blend of live webinars, self-paced sessions, and hands-on assignments. They will learn how to speak confidently about their work, capture it through film and photography, navigate both face-to-face and online sales strategies, prepare and display their collections for selling events and participate in live talks, exhibitions, and online platforms, including the Goldsmiths’ Centre’s online shop.
This year’s participants will be stepping into the footsteps of talented Shine alumni, including Caitlin Murphy, Poppy Norton, Jo Boateng, Cameron and Breen, William Sharp and Makila Nsika. Many have gone on to make significant strides in the industry after participating in the programme, securing commissions, awards, and prestigious showcasing opportunities, including the renowned Goldsmiths’ Fair at Goldsmiths’ Hall.
Each Shine application will be carefully reviewed by an internal and external selection panel, focusing on the quality, presentation, and narrative coherence of the collection. Applications for Shine 2024 close on Monday 17 June 2024 at 5pm.
