Heritage Skills Event
8 April 2025
Deadline: April 30, 2025

Traditional craftsmanship and specialist techniques are essential for conserving our heritage and transforming historic spaces for the 21st century. As conservation professionals it is essential that we understand the methods, materials and practicalities of heritage skills and have enough knowledge and understanding to correctly specify conservation repairs to ensure the most appropriate repairs are carried out and done by the right people.
The IHBC (Institute of Historic Building Conservation) NI is hosting a Heritage Skills Event for conservation professionals and students to focus on the practicalities of specifying conservation repairs. This event that will be hosted by Hearth Historic Building Trust in Riddel’s Warehouse on 30th April 2025 to showcase some of the traditional skills that will be fundamental to bringing this important building back to life for the 21st century and it will give us the opportunity to see these firsthand.
