My history of artistic practise includes exhibitions in the Cowley Gallery, the Hallows Gallery, CraftNI Gallery, Crescent Arts’ Centre, Ulster Museum, the Glebe Gallery (2014 -15 summer exhibitions), ForM Sculpture Exhibition in Bangor Castle’s Walled Garden in 2015 and the Arthouse in Dunfanaghy. I currently work from my studio in Belfast.
Although I have worked in clay since 2012, I have also been in the Millfield Foundry since 2016. My cast bronze figure (Madame Geneva) was in the RUA 2018/9 show. An Arts Council award afforded me the opportunity to do a casting workshop with Maurice Harron in 2019.
I work in smooth crank, flax and parian porcelain and cast bronze.
My work is figurative, and narrative and concerned with the female archetypes as depicted in myth,
fairy-tale and folklore.
My background in animation also goes some way to inform the expression of my (mainly)
female characters and their ability to be posed in two-part builds (image)
My work is also concerned with containers for domestic use – spice boxes(image)whiskey
cups (image), trinket containers and head and shoulders/ planters (image).
I build and model clay using slab, pinch and coil techniques.
