I graduated with a B.A (Hons) degree in 3-Dimensional design from the Belfast College of Art.

After completing a course at the City University Business School in London I set up my own business as a gold and silversmith specialising in design and making jewellery and silverware.

My work can depict the narrative, humour, also a sense of fun, or be more abstract. Each piece is handcrafted with great attention to detail sometimes incorporating precious, semi-precious stones or enamelling.

Inspiration for my designs comes from the movement of the sea, boats and their sails, the love of nature and wildlife in all its forms.

When I was a student I won awards for my work in Jewellery, silver-smithing and enamelling. The most memorable being the Johnson Matthew metals silver award for the design of silver goblets which I also had to make, these were exhibited at the Goldsmiths hall in London.

Ever since I can remember I have been fascinated with silverware and love creating larger scale work which I find challenging I produce one-off and limited edition piece as well as pieces for my own collection.

Painting also plays a part as it gives me a different medium to work with. It also fuels my imagination for my 3-dimensional designs.

One private commission I was asked to create was a larger painting for a courtyard garden, this I thoroughly enjoyed as there were so many elements within the scene. Sometimes I will incorporate a hidden interest within my paintings to encourage the viewer to “Look, Appreciate and Enjoy”!
