Lydia Smith Ceramics specialises in colourful handmade pottery thrown on the wheel and manufactured in both porcelain and  speckled stoneware clays. Working from a studio in the heart of Kilkenny, my tableware is designed to be modern, comfortable and beautiful. Each colourful piece can work as a set or as striking individual collectables. 

This coming year I will be moving to a larger purpose built studio in Kilkenny City and I am looking forward to all of the new opportunities this will afford me. I want to throw larger more experimental work that I currently don’t have the room to store. This year I have been exploring sculptural figurative work and newer handbuilding techniques that don’t directly reference my tableware ranges. I’m excited with the play time I will be afforded by this new studio space
