Porcelain White Ceramics
Ceramics
Porcelain White ceramics is a range of hand-made stoneware by Lynne Dyson inspired by the seascapes and coastline of Northern Ireland. Shapes, edges and patterns reflect these influences as does the colour palette of blue and white and also grey and white. The range is designed for every day use as well as relaxed entertaining with friends and family. Each piece has the maker's mark LD and is dishwasher safe.
Lynne discovered and fell in love with clay on Foundation Year at Bath Academy of Art taught by Felicity Aylieff, followed by BA Hons also in Bath and Corsham taught by John Colbeck.
MA in 3D design specializing in Ceramics followed in Cardiff mentored by Michael Hose and during this course Lynne exhibited her ceramic tile panels at The New Designers Exhibition in the Business Design Centre, London. Here she was hired by international company Maitland-Smith Ltd USA to design and manufacture porcelain decorative ware in their South East Asia factories.
She spent many years abroad in this role creating porcelain ranges for the American market showcased biannually at trade events in North Carolina.
This creative, commercial and ceramics industry experience led to further design opportunities over the following years with international companies and Lynne designing in addition to ceramics: furniture, Irish crystal and interiors.
Home is now County Antrim where Lynne and her husband brought up their family and where she has a ceramics studio. Lockdown gave her the opportunity to experiment and create her own range of ceramics after years of working to a design brief for others. With proximity to the sea, Porcelain White was born and with her inspiration, combined with a love of cooking and a desire to make tableware for everyday use, the business continues to grow and flourish.
