Jewellery

I am a designer of jewellery primarily, and larger pieces of Artwork. I enjoy using silver, indigenous and patinated metals equally to create distinctive pieces of Art and Jewellery that are often treasures to last a lifetime. I particularly enjoy telling peoples stories through my commission work, or, I am equally happy drawing the colours in a natural way out of copper using a torch almost like a paintbrush. Based in the historical city of Derry in Northern Ireland, I have been designing and crafting unique design pieces for four decades, often influenced by my love of the Atlantic waters around Donegal and The North Coast. My creations have found their way into people’s hearts as pieces of colourful jewellery or priceless gifts for once in a lifetime occasions.

Bio

Attending Grennan Mill Craft School, Co Kilkenny kicked off a lifetime journey with design, followed by becoming a first-class graduate in 3D Design. Years later, stories have come to the surface that about my creations are being passed down to new generations, and they have reached all corners of the globe.

I work from home in Derry which is luckily based between the two beautiful coastlines of County Donegal, and The North Coast.  I love the Atlantic Sea, both walking beside it, sailing upon it and sometimes swimming in it. My work reflects these landscapes and their vibrant colours.

In my work I use silver, patinated copper and semi-precious stones. I am one of very few designers that combines the metals that I use with woods indigenous to Northern Ireland.

My Jewellery Collections use a simple and elegant design style, using strong shapes and gentle curves often inspired by the sea.

I take most pleasure in my commission work listening to clients’ stories and then creating life-long pieces of jewellery or artwork incorporating symbols that either tell their story, or that expresses a sentiment in semi-precious metals.
