NI Silver
Jewellery
Ruth is a goldsmith/jewellery maker based in Holywood, Northern Ireland (NI). Ruth began her jewellery journey in Malaysia where she lived between 2009 and 2012. She loved the warmth she had felt every time she flew into Belfast City Airport from her travels and saw the H&W Cranes, the Balls on the Falls and the Thanksgiving Statue on the flight path, so knew she was home. When she returned to NI to live in 2012 she realised that there was no architectural/landmark style jewellery products available, so quickly set about making this her new business venture. NI Silver began as a silver only business but have swiftly developed into gold, platinum and palladium when required.
Ruth’s business (NI Silver) is made up of multiple strands. There is a contemporary range of jewellery covering your “memories of home” ie where you were born, proposed to, married, where your family/ancestors lived etc.
The second strand covers commission work and the very personalised service between you and Ruth. She will either take your old jewellery and revamp it into something modern or make something totally unique for you.
The final strand lets you create your own memory at our workshop. You will be led by Ruth and can make a pendant, bangle or a ring as long as the making time fits the 4 hour workshop window. No experience is necessary, and you can do as much or as little work as you wish. These are great as experience days out with your friends. mother, father, hen party, up to a max of 3 due to Covid restrictions. Specific jewellery making gift certificates are available to purchase at nisilver.com
You can also purchase a generic NI Silver gift certificates which can be put towards a piece of jewellery or a workshop. Once ordered, the gift certificates arrive either with you for presentation or directly with the recipient, all beautifully packaged.
Ruth’s passion for Northern Ireland and the architectural, structural and textural aspects of our iconic country are where her inspiration comes from. “After living overseas for years, the stunning beauty of ‘home’ consumes me and I am continually inspired by my everyday surroundings.” I absolutely love living here and have experienced Northern Ireland through the eyes of a tourist with my family, which does make me notice more each day. We truly live in a beautiful part of the world.
