Jewellery

Tara specialises in creating artisan jewellery made from precious metals and gemstones. Her inspirations often come from human connections, astronomy and historical world culture. Tara creates her own jewellery collections as well as offering repairs, remodelling and working to client commissions.

Bio

Tara is a Goldsmith based in Craigavon in County Armagh. Tara designs and makes inspired contemporary jewellery collections, creates commissioned pieces for clients, creates one off experimental pieces for exhibitions as well as offering repair and remodelling services for precious metal jewellery.

Within her collections Tara enjoys exploring concepts of an intangible nature bringing these thought processes through subtly in her work. Tara often works on remodelling jewellery pieces her clients have been passed down. Working thoughtfully towards the clients wishes Tara loves the challenge of modernising these pieces whilst keeping hints of what the piece was and its history.

In 2019 Tara Graduated with an Upper Second Class Honours Degree in Contemporary Applied Arts, Silversmithing and Jewellery with a Diploma in International Academic Studies for completing an year long Erasmus+ placement at Hochschule Düsseldorf, Germany. After Graduating Tara also received a post graduate certificate in Leadership, where she spent six months in placement with a multi award winning jeweller.

After finishing University Tara started her small business Made by Tara in 2020. Where she has worked on a uncountable number of private commissions.

 

Tara has also took part in some local events and exhibitions such as;

Craft NI Gallery’s “Pinned” exhibition in 2020.

Craft Demonstration at Armagh Craft Fair 2023.

“Other worlds” Exhibtion with the Shore Collective in Castleblayney in 2023.

ABC Council funded well being workshops for Mums Club Craigavon through the Shore Collective, Lurgan, 2023.

Auxillary Artist for ABC council Funded “Traditions for the Future” community led workshops. 2024.

I am open to taking on a range of commissioned work in precious metals with or without gemstones, Most of my commissioned work so far has led me to specialise in remodelling sentimental jewellery pieces.
