Trevor has been teaching and making ceramics for 40 years now and has exhibited work through exhibitions and fairs all over the UK and Ireland. Ellen is following in her father's footsteps. Both potters create a wide range of mostly handbuilt work which can be found in the best craft Galleries across the country
Mount Ida Pottery is situated in a beautiful rural location 3 minutes from the main A1 Belfast to Dublin carriageway. The studio is purpose built to accommodate ceramic courses and be a beautiful working space. Trevor and his daughter Ellen create a broad range of mostly earthenware fired pieces. The work is is reflection of their rural upbringing and can be found in galleries and craft shops all over the country. Trevor has been in the current studio for 10 years now having been a full time teacher for 36 years. Ellen is still a practicing teacher but works part time in the studio. She has a first class Honors from Plymouth Art College. Both Trevor and Ellen run workshops daily for both throwing and handbuilding techniques.
